CONTAXI PRIVACY POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION 

Welcome to Contaxi ("App"), a platform operated by Contaxi LLC ("Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information as a free, non-commercial social tool. By using Contaxi, you consent to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. 

 

2. AGE REQUIREMENT (16+) 

Contaxi is intended for users who are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16. If we become aware that a user under 16 has created an account, we will take immediate steps to delete their information and terminate the account. 

 

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT 

We collect and process the following types of data: 

  • Account Information: Name, username, email address, and encrypted passwords.

  • Usage Data: Geolocation data (only when you choose to post), time of posts, and the number of people included in a request.

  • Social Connections: Your "Friends List" or connected contacts within the App to facilitate private sharing. 

 

4. DATA RETENTION & USER CONTROL 

  • Post Persistence: Unlike ephemeral messaging, posts and associated location data on Contaxi are retained until the User manually deletes the post or terminates their account. This allows your friends to see your requests for as long as you deem necessary.

  • User Deletion: You have the right to delete any post at any time. Once deleted, the information is removed from our active database. 

 

5. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION 

  • To allow your friends to view your location and travel needs.

  • To maintain and improve the App’s functionality.

  • To ensure security and prevent unauthorized access.

  • No Commercial Use: Because the App is free and social-only, your data is never used to calculate "fares," "prices," or "tips." 

 

6. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE 

  • No Sale of Data: We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data, location history, or contact lists to third parties or advertisers.

  • Private Visibility: Your posts are only visible to Users you have confirmed as "Friends" within the App.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process in the State of Alabama. 

 

7. DATA SECURITY 

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect user information. Passwords are encrypted, and sensitive location data is transmitted via secure protocols. 

 

8. YOUR RIGHTS 

In accordance with 2026 digital privacy standards, you have the right to: 

  • Access and update your personal information.

  • Request total deletion of your account and all associated data.

  • Manage or revoke location-sharing permissions through your device settings. 

 

9. MODIFICATIONS 

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting within the App. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. 

 

10. GOVERNING LAW 

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be resolved in accordance with the arbitration provisions in our Terms of Service.
